Pediatric Developmental Connections is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team. The Patient Service Representative will be responsible for greeting patients/families, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and assisting with administrative tasks to ensure a positive patient experience. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for providing exceptional customer service in a healthcare setting.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Check-In and Check-Out: Greet patients in a courteous and professional manner upon arrival at the practice.
- Assist patients with completing pre-appointment forms and obtaining necessary documentation if necessary.
- Appointment Scheduling: Schedule patient appointments accurately, ensuring appropriate time slots and provider availability. Confirm appointments with patients via phone, email, or text message as needed.
- Insurance Verification and Authorization: we have an amazing insurance team that will verify our patient’s insurance plans. All you will need to do is take insurance information/details and submit it to our insurance team to verify coverage/patient responsibility. Our insurance team will also obtain the necessary referrals if needed.
- Patient Communication: Answer incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Provide information to patients regarding appointment scheduling, practice policies, and services offered. Relay messages to healthcare providers and clinical staff as needed.
- Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks, such as filing and scanning. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk area and waiting room. Perform other duties as assigned by practice management or healthcare providers.
- Assistance with interpretation if needed.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Bi-lingual. Spanish and English.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a customer service or administrative role, preferably in a healthcare or medical office setting.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with patients, staff, and visitors.
- Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients and their families.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using computer software applications and office equipment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
HOURS: 4 days/week (approx. 28 hours). Our office hours are 9am-4pm. After initial training a hybrid schedule will be considered (WFH/Remote 1-2 days a week)
PAY: $18-$19/ hour (negotiable)
