We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Superintendent to oversee our commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing construction projects from the ground up, maintaining quality control, managing risks, reading blueprints, supervising subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with building codes. This position requires a hands-on approach and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all stages of project life cycle managing construction activities from the ground up and ensuring that projects are completed within time and budgetary constraints.
- Implement and manage quality control procedures to ensure the highest level of construction standards.
- Read, interpret, and implement blueprints and construction plans, ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with the design.
- Manage and coordinate the activities of subcontractors, ensuring that all work is carried out to the required standard and in accordance with the construction schedule.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and implement risk management strategies to minimize potential hazards and delays.
- Ensure strict adherence to local and national building codes and regulations.
- Coordinate and communicate with all stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and local authorities.
- Conduct regular site inspections and provide progress reports to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent or similar role in commercial construction.
- Proven experience in managing construction projects from the ground up.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, quality control, and safety procedures.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and construction plans.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate the work of subcontractors.
- Excellent knowledge of local and national building codes and regulations.
- Proven risk management skills with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Strong leadership and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Certification in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards is a plus.
