Our Lead Toddler Teacher creates a safe, structured, and faith-centered environment, leads classroom routines with confidence, and partners closely with assistant teachers to ensure high-quality care and learning. We’re looking for someone who brings joy, patience, professionalism, and intentionality—elevating the classroom to the highest standard of Christian early education.

  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that support language, motor skills, social-emotional growth, and early faith development.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized environment that encourages exploration and learning.
  • Guide daily routines including diapering, meals, sensory play, circle time, and transitions.
  • Model patience, calmness, and positive behavior for children and staff.
  • Work closely with assistant teachers and support staff to share responsibilities and keep the classroom running smoothly.
  • Delegate tasks clearly and provide guidance and support to assistant teachers.
  • Build strong, professional relationships with families through daily communication and updates.
  • Observe and document each child’s development and communicate any concerns promptly.
  • Uphold program policies, safety standards, and classroom expectations.
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development.

Requirements

  • Experience working with toddlers or young children in an early childhood setting.
  • A genuine love for teaching and a strong calling to work with children.
  • Understanding of toddler development, behavior guidance, and early learning best practices.
  • Willingness to learn and use CT DOTS documentation and assessment tools.
  • Ability to lead a classroom with confidence, organization, and professionalism.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with a classroom team.
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a safe, nurturing environment.
  • Willingness to uphold and reflect the mission and values of Family Tree Ministry.

  • Familiarity with Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards (CT ELDS).

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with a classroom team.
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a safe, nurturing environment.
