LHH is partnering with a well-established automotive organization to identify a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk. This role supports the day-to-day accounts payable function and works closely with accounting, operations, and vendors to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, is comfortable with high transaction volume, and brings strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Process high-volume vendor invoices accurately and efficiently
- Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation
- Code invoices to appropriate general ledger accounts and cost centers
- Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH, and wire payments
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepancies
- Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status and account issues
- Assist with month-end close activities related to accounts payable
- Maintain organized and audit-ready AP documentation
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure proper approvals and compliance with company policies
Qualifications
- Prior experience in Accounts Payable or related accounting support role
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage high transaction volume
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Comfortable working with ERP systems and invoice workflows
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (sorting, filtering, basic formulas)
- Strong communication and follow-up skills
Preferred Experience
- Experience in an automotive, dealership, service, or manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with three-way matching (PO, invoice, receipt)
- Experience handling multiple entities or locations
- Exposure to month-end close or audit support
