Care One Pharmacy, based in Niles, Illinois is experiencing growth and we are currently hiring

Pharmacy Technicians for our PM shift. There are openings on our 2PM-10:30PM and 4PM-12:30AM shifts. The schedule is Monday through Friday and includes rotating weekends and holidays. This is a full time ON SITE.

Pharmacy Technician

If working in a fast-paced environment is your passion and you are a team player review the responsibilities below:

  • Assist the pharmacists in filling prescription items, as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy
  • Review prescription labels, pull medications and fill according to guidelines
  • Works according to facility delivery schedule, prioritizes
  • Contribute to the efficient workflow of the pharmacy by maintaining a high productivity level and an error-free work product.
  • Communicates with supervisors and teammates consistently and appropriately as necessary
  • Updates NDC numbers in software system as necessary
  • Prepares bulk medications as per orders
  • Maintain the orderliness of the pharmacy by keeping pharmacy countertops and drug bay shelves tidy and organized.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, walk as part of the position and bend to access medications from shelving
  • Maintain the proper licenses to work as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Enter, access, and verify the accuracy of data in the pharmacy system.
  • Reliability and flexibility with scheduling is required. Monday-Friday with rotating weekends and holidays.
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent required,
  • Current national or state pharmacy certification and State Board of Pharmacy registration required
  • Pervious Long Term Care Pharmacy experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • 2-3 years’ experience in Retail / Long Term Care Pharmacy
  • Certified; Illinois Pharmacy Technician License in good standing
  • Skills: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills are required.
  • Must possess good mathematical skills.
  • Be familiar with brand/generic names and general uses for medications.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret doctor’s orders.
  • Familiarity with federal and State laws as they pertain to the pharmacy.
