Manual Machinist
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to repair and machine steel and aluminum cores using manual lathes. This position requires strong blueprint reading skills, precision measurements, and a focus on quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Repair steel and aluminum cores using manual lathes
- Review blueprints and job orders to determine tooling requirements and machining specifications
- Calculate machine speeds, feed rates, and depth/position of cuts
- Mount, align, and secure tooling using hand tools and precision measuring instruments
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain accuracy
- Inspect finished parts to ensure quality standards are met
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2–3 years of manual lathe experience (3+ years preferred)
- Strong understanding of machining principles and manual equipment operation
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Proficient with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.)
- Strong math skills
- Welding experience is a plus
