Summary

The Global Logistics Specialist oversees shipping, receiving, inventory management, and logistics operations to support production schedules and customer orders. This role ensures efficient supply chain coordination, accurate inventory control, and seamless import/export processes, while maintaining accuracy and efficiency in all logistics functions.


Key Responsibilities

Shipping & Receiving Management

  • Coordinate with domestic and international carriers for all shipments departing MiCROTEC.
  • Prepare Bills of Lading (BOLs) for all LTL and FTL shipments and complete required export documentation (HBL, commercial invoices, packing lists, Certificates of Origin, etc.).
  • Ensure timely and accurate communication between Sales, Purchasing, and customers for shipment updates.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for part sales, customers, and service providers regarding shipment clearance.
  • Provide freight quotes and assist global sites with import/export-related inquiries.
  • Monitor shipments to meet or exceed lead-time expectations, reporting irregularities promptly to management.
  • Maintain comprehensive import/export records for customs compliance.
  • Pack, Ship & Receive all incoming and outgoing shipments.

Inventory & Materials Planning

  • Assist in conducting inventory audits and cycle counts, resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of Bill of Materials (BOM) data.
  • Collaborate with Materials Planning staff to address order issues and schedule adjustments.

Process Improvement & Compliance

  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
  • Prioritize and assign logistics tasks based on production schedules and operational needs.
  • Establish and maintain a classification database, ensuring accurate and timely information is available for brokers, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Submit Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) as needed for drawing updates or corrections.

Procurement & Documentation

  • Monitor inventory levels and place purchase orders to suppliers for cables, lumber, packing supplies and other items as instructed.
  • Maintain records of scanner builds and ensure proper documentation

Requirements:

Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Strong ability to plan, prioritize tasks, and work independently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
  • Experience using ERP systems.
  • In-depth understanding of INCOTERMS 2020 and international shipping documentation.
  • Domestic and international transportation knowledge.
  • Proven ability to work under tight deadlines and in a dynamic environment.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of experience in warehouse, distribution, or logistics operations within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with international sales orders and creating export/import documentation.
  • Previous experience working with a Customs Broker or Freight Forwarder preferred.
  • Related coursework or certifications in customs compliance and logistics preferred.

Physical & Travel Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Comfortable with prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and twisting.
  • Occasional domestic and international travel required, visiting suppliers, customers, or other MiCROTEC locations.
  • Comfortable working in an industrial environment with temperature variations.

Pay & Onsite Requirements

  • Position is located onsite in Corvallis, Oregon.
  • $27 - $34 per hour based on experience
