We are currently looking for an Extraction Technician to join our new BHO Lab located at our Cultivation facility in St Johns FL! The Extraction Technician is responsible for assisting in the extraction and refinement of medical cannabis, including all tasks related to Hydrocarbon Extraction, Distillation, and Post-Processing. This role requires strict adherence to company SOPs, with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and quality. The Extraction Technician thrives in a detail-oriented, fast-paced, and collaborative environment and demonstrates the ability to learn and apply new scientific concepts to continuously improve workflow, efficiency, and operational safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Prepare plant material for extraction, including chopping and milling, and operate ovens to decarboxylate, process, and purge materials in accordance with SOPs.
  • Strictly adhere to established SOPs for hydrocarbon extraction, winterization, filtration, and distillation of oleoresins and terpenes.
  • Clean, sanitize, and maintain extraction equipment, tools, and glassware.
  • Assist with formulation, portioning, packaging, and labeling of cannabis concentrates, including preparing and labeling batch samples for third-party laboratory testing.
  • Accurately weigh, track, and process raw plant material into resins and distillates in compliance with SOPs and maintenance procedures.
  • Batch all production runs using BioTrack in accordance with state regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels of materials, supplies, and extraction products required for production operations.
  • Log and maintain detailed production and compliance records; analyze data to support process improvements, workflow efficiency, and quality control.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail, understanding of workflow, and effective time management in a fast-paced, large-scale production environment.
  • Safely and confidently work with solvents, chemicals, and extraction equipment while following all safety protocols; use PPE as required, including eye protection, face masks, and safety suits, and identify and address operational or safety issues.
  • Understand, implement, and comply with all rules and regulations of the Florida Medical Marijuana Program.
  • Complete all required Department of Health and company training programs.
  • Accurately enter, maintain, and review production and compliance data in company systems.
  • Comply with all HR policies including confidentiality and non-disclosure.
  • Assist with the implementation of company policies, standard operating procedures, and performance standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Daily compliance with Company policies including but not limited to; state/local regulation compliance, security protocols, access protocols, dress code, and work schedules.

Starting Rate: $16/hr

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold (including walk-in frozen storage as low as 28&degree;F), and extreme heat (with temperatures ranging from 50&degree;F to 100&degree;F). The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and equipment such as grinders, presses, and extraction tools. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and chemicals, including petroleum and alcohol-based solvents. This role requires the use of PPE, including eye protection for UV lighting, face masks, and safety suits as required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
This position will involve exposure to cannabis, cannabis odors, and cannabis smoke, which is a Schedule I controlled substance under federal law.
