Job Summary

The role involves delivering direct nursing care in line with the established policies, procedures, and protocols of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enhance the quality of care and life for patients and their families by applying medical-surgical nursing standards and evaluating nursing practices.
  • Build effective relationships and advocate for patients and their families to create personalized care plans.
  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Formulate assessment and management strategies considering various dimensions of health responses.
  • Demonstrate understanding of how illnesses affect patients' overall status.
  • Exhibit leadership by collaborating with patients, families, and the healthcare team to assess needs and evaluate outcomes.
  • Engage in effective communication with patients and families to ensure culturally sensitive and ethical care.
  • Educate patients and families on health promotion and comfort measures.
  • Promote a healthy work environment by mentoring nursing colleagues and students.
  • Apply evidence-based practices in medical-surgical nursing to meet age-specific and clinical needs.
  • Maintain a state of alertness and safety while performing duties.
  • Conduct point-of-care testing as per established guidelines.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensing.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year as a registered nurse.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent oral communication and standing/walking.
  • Regular lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, reaching, and data entry.
  • Visual acuity for near and far distances, as well as color differentiation.
  • Ability to detect odors and hear alarms or communications.
  • Occasional lifting of objects weighing 25-50 lbs and moving patients.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, and repetitive movements.
  • Rare crawling and running.
