Job Summary
The role involves delivering direct nursing care in line with the established policies, procedures, and protocols of our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance the quality of care and life for patients and their families by applying medical-surgical nursing standards and evaluating nursing practices.
- Build effective relationships and advocate for patients and their families to create personalized care plans.
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Formulate assessment and management strategies considering various dimensions of health responses.
- Demonstrate understanding of how illnesses affect patients' overall status.
- Exhibit leadership by collaborating with patients, families, and the healthcare team to assess needs and evaluate outcomes.
- Engage in effective communication with patients and families to ensure culturally sensitive and ethical care.
- Educate patients and families on health promotion and comfort measures.
- Promote a healthy work environment by mentoring nursing colleagues and students.
- Apply evidence-based practices in medical-surgical nursing to meet age-specific and clinical needs.
- Maintain a state of alertness and safety while performing duties.
- Conduct point-of-care testing as per established guidelines.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensing.
- Experience: Minimum of one year as a registered nurse.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent oral communication and standing/walking.
- Regular lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Frequent sitting, reaching, and data entry.
- Visual acuity for near and far distances, as well as color differentiation.
- Ability to detect odors and hear alarms or communications.
- Occasional lifting of objects weighing 25-50 lbs and moving patients.
- Occasional bending, stooping, and repetitive movements.
- Rare crawling and running.
