We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. Duties

  • Greet patients warmly, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive first impression
  • Manage appointment scheduling using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Practice Fusion and Medisoft
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility and benefits verification
  • Collect and process payments, including medical collections when applicable
  • Maintain accurate and organized medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Handle multi-line phone systems with professionalism, utilizing proper phone etiquette to address inquiries and direct calls appropriately
  • Obtain prior authorization for scheduled procedures
  • Assist with intake procedures, including gathering patient information and updating electronic health records
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure timely appointment scheduling and follow-up care plans
  • Perform clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and managing office supplies to support daily clinic operations
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist with clinic experience required
  • Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such Practice Fusion and Medisoft is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, and Medicare guidelines
  • Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette; bilingual (Spanish)abilities are required for serving diverse patient populations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) along with typing skills including 10-key typing for data entry tasks
  • Ability to review documentation thoroughly for accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to health information management and patient privacy protection
