WE’RE HIRING A HUMAN RESOURCES COORDINATOR BASED IN WASHINGTON, DC

As an HR Coordinator, you will support the full employee lifecycle and help manage key HR systems and processes. You’ll play a vital role in making Call Your Mother an amazing place to work, supporting hourly team members to managers.

In this role, you’ll partner closely with the DMV Human Resources Manager to coordinate day-to-day HR operations, including onboarding and offboarding, benefits administration, compliance, employee relations and employee data management. You’ll be a go-to resource for team members, helping ensure they have the support and information they need to thrive.

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Support core HR functions including employee relations, engagement, benefits, and compliance.
  • Assist DMV Operations leaders with on-site HR support—helping with hiring, onboarding, and day-to-day team member needs.
  • Maintain and organize electronic and paper employee files (active and terminated), including benefit documentation and personnel folders.
  • Monitor the HR inbox, responding to team member inquiries and escalating as needed.
  • Manage administrative communication including: employment verification requests, HRIS-related issues, benefit-related questions or issues with insurance brokers/providers
  • Update and maintain employee personal information, policies, handbooks, and SOPs within ADP and shared systems.
  • Conduct weekly audits and generate workflow reports in ADP to ensure employee information is accurate and up to date across all platforms.
  • Run and manage reports for HR, payroll, and management as needed.
  • Champion CYM’s people-first culture by helping plan and support initiatives, events, and programs that celebrate and connect our team.
  • Support engagement activities such as employee conversations, exit interviews, engagement surveys, and monthly recognition programs.
  • Assist with the creation, maintenance, and rollout of HR SOPs, policies, and employee handbooks.
  • Make regular visits to shops to stay connected with teams and understand workplace needs and culture in action.
  • Help maintain knowledge of HR laws and ensure compliance across all CYM locations.
  • Stay informed on new HR best practices, tools, and systems to help CYM continually improve the employee experience.
  • Support process improvements and new initiatives that enhance HR operations and data accuracy.
  • Provide general administrative support to keep HR operations organized and efficient.

You’ll be a great addition to the CYM team if you:

  • 1–2 years of experience in Human Resources; experience in hospitality or restaurant environments, required
  • Conversational proficiency in Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing) required
  • Experience with HRIS systems and reporting (ADP Workforce Now preferred)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
  • A keen sense of detail, organization, and analytics with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Working knowledge of HR fundamentals, including onboarding, benefits, compliance, and employee relations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Maintains discretion and confidentiality in all matters
  • A people-first mindset with a passion for supporting and celebrating employees at every level
  • Have reliable transportation to travel to all Call Your Mother DMV locations and spend quality time with each shop team

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, standing, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours. These physical requirements may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodation.
