HOURS AND DAYS OF WORK:
All employees of the Housing Authority work a 4/10 schedule, which consists of four (4) days / ten (10) hours per day from Monday through Thursday and off on Friday.
DEFINITION/PURPOSE:
Under the general supervision of a Manager in the Housing Choice Voucher Department, provide direct case management, as well as referrals to partner agencies to support families and individuals served by the Housing Authority of the County of Contra Costa. Incumbents have the responsibility for managing a caseload of Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program participants which includes: orientation, intake, action plan development, through program completion and graduation; determination of initial and continued eligibility for housing of applicants and participants. Other responsibilities include community outreach, providing or arranging for training programs, evaluating and appraising clients, collecting and analyzing data, compiling and filing reports, providing technical assistance to management concerning program issues and performing other related work as required. The duties listed below illustrate the various types of work that may be performed. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:
This classification is responsible for principally managing a caseload of FSS clients from orientation, intake, and action plan development through annual examination completion and graduation. This class is distinguished from the Housing Assistant classification as it provides services that relate specifically to the case management of the FSS program’s goals and objectives. These goals include individual client action plan development, asset management, program completion, and graduation activities. Other clients assigned to the Housing Services team may be distributed to a case load managed by a FSS Coordinator. This classification deals with multiple audiences including participants, the public, colleagues, and personnel in other agencies. Significant action to the client may result based on the accuracy of sensitive information.
