The Marketing & Content Specialist is responsible for overseeing the creation, organization, and strategic use of digital content across the organization. This role manages content workflows, media library systems, social channels, newsletters, and various internal and external documentation needs. The ideal candidate is highly organized, strategy-driven, and comfortable balancing creative production with operational efficiency.
Antarctic Logistics & Expeditions (ALE) is the most experienced deep-field operator in Antarctica, providing a wide range of guided experiences, air support, logistical back-up and safety cover for governmental research programs, independent expeditions, and tourists. We work in a worldwide market of different cultures and languages, and we fully embrace this diversity. We also have a strong environmental ethic. ALE is a Utah company with a year-round office in Salt Lake City, a seasonal operations support office in Punta Arenas, Chile, and a several seasonal field camps in Antarctica.
Duties and Responsibilities
Social Media Management
- Develop, schedule, and publish content across platforms including but not limited to; Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn and X.
- Monitor engagement and optimize based on performance metrics.
Documentation Management
- Create, edit, and organize internal and external content including itineraries, brochures, staff posters, intake forms, and other organizational documents.
- Manage documentation workflows whether handled internally or through outsourced partners/contractors.
- Coordinate and maintain internal content organization within SharePoint and website.
Content Planning and Production Management
- Oversee in-season content flow with field staff and ensures timely delivery and organization within PSB.
- Lead onboarding of creatives, including introductory briefings, contract coordination and asset collection for 3rd party content creators.
Content Creation
- Manage monthly newsletter production through Campaign Monitor, including writing, layout, and distribution.
- Contribute to ALE's blog, focused on news, storytelling, or SEO goals.
- Manage design and contributors to the annual in-flight publication.
- Produce and edit multimedia content as needed.
- Organize creative assets for cross-team use.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be accepted for candidates with strong portfolios or specialized skills.
- Marketing & Communications Experience (2-4 years ideal)
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Premiere Pro and InDesign.
- Experience creating content across multiple channels (social, email, print, digital).
- Advanced Social Media Platforms experience: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok (depending on use).
- Strong writing skills for social content, newsletters, blogs, and long‑form materials.
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities, able to manage workflows, contractors, and content delivery.
- Experience analyzing KPIs and using performance insights to guide strategy (Google Analytics 4, Meta Business Suite).
- Ability to use scheduling and workflow tools (Google Workspace, Teams, SharePoint, etc.)
Compensation and Benefits
The Marketing & Content Specialist will make an annual salary between $65,000 and $70,000.

The Marketing Specialist is an FLSA Exempt (salary) position.
Field visits to Antarctica will require the incumbent to pass a medical questionnaire that is reviewed by our Medical Director.
