CNC Mill Programmer | Kentwood, MI
Salary Range: $62,000 - $97,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Develop CNC programs for 3-axis to 5-axis milling machines using CAM software.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining parameters for optimal performance.
- Perform post-processing and verify G-code for accuracy and machine compatibility.
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and machinists to optimize machining processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve programming issues during machine setup and production.
- Create and maintain detailed setup sheets and tooling lists for each program.
- Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.
Recommended Qualifications
- Proficiency in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360) for generating toolpaths.
- Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming for 3-axis and multi-axis CNC mills.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.
- Experience with tool selection, cutting parameters, and workholding strategies.
- Knowledge of various materials (e.g., aluminum, steel, plastics) and their machining characteristics.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with 5-axis programming.
- Familiarity with a variety of CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidWorks CAM).
- Proven ability to optimize toolpaths for reduced cycle times and improved surface finish.
- Strong understanding of GD&T principles.
- Experience with automation or robotics integration.
