The Machinist plays a crucial role in the machine manufacturing process, working on custom blueprints and operating a variety of manual machines, including mills, lathes, bandsaws, drill presses, and grinders, to fabricate precision parts. The Machinist will be responsible for working with close tolerances, setting up machines, and independently running parts. There is also an opportunity to regularly operate CNC Lathe and Mill, depending on capability. This position is within a custom job shop where there will be a lot of variety in type and quantity of parts made.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual mills and lathes to fabricate precision parts.
- Read and interpret custom blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Utilize precision measuring tools for quality assurance.
- Regularly run CNC Lathe and Mill, if capable.
- Perform machine setup and part running independently.
- Assist with mechanical assembly as needed in the shop.
Essential Skills
- 3-5 years of experience with setup and operation of manual mills, lathes, drill press, and bandsaw.
- Strong blueprint reading capabilities.
- Proficiency with precision measurement tools.
- Understanding and minor experience with CNC operation and setup.
- CAM programming experience, preferably with Solidworks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Proficient in setup and operation of CNC machines.
- Mechanical assembly skills to assist in other areas of the shop.

Work Environment
The work takes place in a heavy manufacturing environment that is not climate controlled. However, there is heating available for the winter months and large fans for warmer periods. The role is scheduled Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 2:30pm, with a 30-minute lunch break.

This is a Permanent position based out of Hanover, Pennsylvania.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $49920.00 - $62400.00/yr.
