The Role
Arcadia Settlements Company is looking for a self-starter to join our remote field team as a Case Manager. The Case Manager will be responsible for providing support to the field Consultant(s) and assisting with data entry of case work. This person is eager to learn a new industry and its intricacies along with being flexible and adept at handling competing priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Checks, designs, and/or updates settlement proposals (completed within one day).
- Extract out relevant medical records to be sent to life companies for substandard ratings.
- Follows up on and logs substandard ratings in files.
- Diaries and updates files in RESOLVER (completed within one day of notification).
- Maintain office reference materials such as: underwriting rules, life insurance company guidelines, legal notebook, hard rates, marketing and promotional material, marketing files and inter-office filing system and other reference materials as needed.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of different life company underwriting standards regarding attorney fees, single lump sums, non-personal injury, etc.
- Ensure office compliance with life company rates are current on a regular basis.
- Update and revise proposals during the settlement process.
- Proofs and distributes annuity policies and final documentation to clients (completed within one week of receipt of policy).
- General support as requested by the Consultant(s) and/or Senior Case Managers.
- Assist with special projects and other responsibilities as directed or as appropriate.

- 5+ years of relevant experience with settlements or similar industry.
- Experience in both Liability and Post Settlement processes preferred.
- Appropriate settlements certifications insurance licensing or desire to obtain certification within months of hire.
- Education or year for year equivalent of kind and level of work to substitute for a degree.
- Experience working with a case management system or equivalent level of system.
- Strong customer relations and interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with a variety of people.
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities and work under pressure.
- In-depth knowledge of annuity products and settlement business, preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, preferred.
- Experience working in the Financial Settlements, legal, or Insurance Industry, preferred.
Work Environment
- 40-hour work week.
- Must be available to work flexible hours as needed based on business needs.
- Regularly communicates both verbally and in writing.
- Sitting for extended periods of time.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components.
- Physical effort and activities include: Light physical effort is required by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.
