Hours: 20 to 25 per week
Pay: $65 per hour
Area to be served: Tampa to Fort Meyers, mainly in Sarasota/Bradenton area, up to 100 miles per day.
Milage Paid: $50 per day
Job Summary
We are seeking a part time dedicated and skilled Home Health Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to join our home healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in wound care management and a strong background in various medical specialties. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with complex wound care needs, while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans for wound management.
- Perform advanced wound care procedures, including suturing, IV infusion, and catheterization.
- Administer botulinum toxin treatments and dermal fillers as needed.
- Utilize EMR systems such as Epic, Athenahealth, Cerner, and eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation and patient records management.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals in critical care settings, including ICU and Level I/II trauma centers.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding wound care practices and prevention strategies.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives related to wound healing and management.
- Conduct triage assessments in urgent care or emergency room settings.
- Manage acute pain through appropriate interventions and medication administration.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
Skills
- Proficient in medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology knowledge relevant to wound care.
- Strong clinical skills in areas such as pediatrics, geriatrics, hospice & palliative medicine, and behavioral health.
- Experience with various medical procedures including phlebotomy, venipuncture, specimen collection/processing, and airway management.
- Familiarity with coding systems such as ICD-9/ICD-10 and CPT coding for accurate medical billing.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic techniques to prevent complications during treatment.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment while demonstrating excellent communication skills.
- Experience with telehealth services to provide remote patient consultations when necessary.
