Degree in Radiologic Technology, Certification in Radiologic Technology (ARRT Certification), and minimum 1+ years Radiology Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Perform specialized computerized tomographic radiological procedures with precision in a rewarding contract role located in Waterford, MI. This position involves working under general supervision to conduct CT scans and general diagnostic radiology exams, playing a vital role in patient imaging and care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Explain examination procedures and prepare patients for their scans, ensuring comfort and understanding.
- Review clinical data and patient history to perform appropriate imaging examinations.
- Prepare and maintain the procedure room, replenishing supplies such as linens regularly.
- Analyze patient anatomy, set up equipment, and manually operate CT scanners to capture high-quality diagnostic images.
- Administer intravenous contrast media safely, monitor patients for reactions, and provide immediate care if necessary.
- Assist Radiologists in complex sterile diagnostic procedures, including biopsies.
- Apply radiation protection principles, utilizing shielding, appropriate settings, and ALARA techniques to minimize exposure.
- Manage imaging quality by resolving image exceptions and ensuring accurate delivery and indexing within PACS and RIS systems.
- Consistently demonstrate professional standards through effective communication, positive attitude, and respect for diversity.
- Complete all necessary documentation within medical records and radiology information systems to support clinical and billing processes.
Desired Experience:
- Certification and experience as a Radiology Technologist specializing in CT imaging.
- Proficiency with PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) and RIS (Radiology Information System).
- Strong understanding of radiation safety practices and patient care protocols.
- Ability to perform sterile techniques and assist in complex procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a clinical team environment.
