Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years NICU RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This opportunity is for a skilled Nurse Practitioner with advanced clinical training to provide specialized care in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) setting. The role requires expertise in physical diagnosis, psychosocial assessment, and comprehensive patient management. Candidates will deliver direct patient care, educate families and staff, and maintain the highest standards of nursing practice.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced nursing care to NICU patients, including physical examinations and psychosocial assessments
  • Educate patients, families, nursing staff, and students regarding healthcare protocols
  • Demonstrate leadership through role modeling and adherence to core organizational values
  • Perform emergency procedures such as intubation and emergency umbilical line placement as needed
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and coordinate specialty referrals
  • Maintain compliance with licensing, certification, and continuing education requirements

Qualifications and Desired Experience

  • Graduate of an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program (new graduates with pediatrics/NICU experience considered)
  • Current RN and NP licensure issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing
  • Nurse Practitioner Furnisher license (or obtain within 3 months of hire)
  • DEA number or application proof (to be obtained within 3 months of hire)
  • Recognition in NRP and PALS within 6 months of hire
  • National certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner preferred
  • Bilingual Spanish skills highly desired
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
