Job Title: Grinder (ID/OD)

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Cylindrical Grinder Operator to perform precision grinding on various components, ensuring tight tolerances and high-quality finishes. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Setup and Operation:

  • Set up and operate cylindrical grinding machines to achieve specified tolerances.

  • Load and align workpieces according to job requirements.

  • Perform grinding operations on pump shafts up to 48" long and other precision components.

• Material Expertise:

  • Grind materials such as tungsten carbide and silicon carbide.

• Quality Control:

  • Measure and verify dimensions using micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools.

  • Ensure all parts meet print specifications and quality standards.

• Tooling & Safety:

  • Set up and qualify tooling for grinding operations.

  • Follow all safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.

• Equipment Maintenance:

  • Maintain and optimize grinding machines and related equipment.

  • Perform basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance as needed.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 3–5 years of precision cylindrical grinding experience.

• Ability to hold tolerances within ±0.0005".

• Proficient with inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).

• Strong understanding of machining and grinding processes.

• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • 14" swing x 192" between centers

  • 14" swing x 72" between centers

  • 10" swing x 48" between centers

  • 6" swing x 18" between centers

  • 35" swing x 162" between centers

  • 24" swing x 236" between centers

• Maximum ID Grinding Capacity:

  • 36" swing x 36" stroke (extended bridge type)

  • 38" OD x 16" stroke (cross sliding work head, tool room type)

  • 22" ID x 88" Planetary Grinder

• Additional Capability:

  • Polishing parts up to 30 ft and achieving 2 RMS finish.
