Clinical Dietitian - Outpatient (Houston, TX) Medcenter
Pay Rate: $36/hr
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Dean's Professional Services is seeking an experienced Clinical Dietitian to join our team in Houston, TX Medcenter. This role focuses primarily on outpatient care, providing annual diabetes assessments and education for patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes (4-8 patients per day), with occasional inpatient support for new onset education.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient nutrition care plans.
- Conduct age-appropriate assessments for patients identified at nutrition risk, including diabetes management and education.
- Adapt nutrition plans to meet patients' economic, social, cultural, and developmental needs.
- Reassess patients and adjust care plans as needed.
- Provide patient and family education to support nutritional care.
- Assess learning needs and readiness to learn for patients and families.
- Collaborate in the development and review of educational materials and department resources.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of nutrition, medical nutrition therapy, and pediatrics.
- Ability to assess nutritional needs, identify deficiencies, and create actionable care plans.
- Proficient in educating patients and families on nutrition and diabetes management.
- Competency with word processing, spreadsheets, and nutrition-related computer programs.
Education & Licensure Requirements
- Registered Dietitian (RD) - Commission on Dietetic Registry (Required)
- Licensed Dietitian (LD) - Texas Department of Licensing (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or related field (Required)
