Job Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Fully onsite in McLean, VA
Compensation: $43 – $50 / Hour (based on experience)
Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
Duration: 3+ months (with possible extension)
Our client in the government contracting and manufacturing space is seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to join their team on a contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional with strong ERP knowledge to support a growing finance department.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of inventory accounting
- Perform month-end close processes to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with financial analysis and reporting as needed
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards
Qualifications:
- 3–5+ years of accounting experience within government contracting or manufacturing
- Strong background in inventory accounting and month-end close
- Hands-on experience with journal entries and general ledger reconciliations
- Proficiency in large ERP systems such as NetSuite, Deltek Costpoint, or SAP
- Ability to work fully onsite in McLean, VA
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently
