Full-time | Monday–Friday | Rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call as neededAbout the RoleJoin Federal Staffing Resources (FSR) in supporting the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program at the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center in Aurora, CO.
We’re seeking Sterile Processing Technicians (Medical Supply Technicians) who are passionate about patient safety, teamwork, and excellence in healthcare.In this role, you’ll ensure Veterans receive safe, high-quality care by cleaning, assembling, and sterilizing surgical instruments and reusable medical equipment (RME) in accordance with strict VA and Joint Commission standards.Key Responsibilities
- Clean, decontaminate, assemble, sterilize, and store surgical instruments and RME.
- Operate and troubleshoot sterilization and disinfection equipment (steam, plasma, AER, etc.).
- Inspect instruments for function and cleanliness, ensuring all sets meet procedural requirements.
- Maintain accurate sterilization records and perform routine quality checks.
- Adhere to manufacturer’s Instructions for Use (IFUs), CDC guidelines, and VA SPS protocols.
- Support operating room case cart preparation and sterile storage management.
Required Qualifications
- Certification: HSPA (formerly IAHCSMM) or CBSPD required.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent sterile processing or medical supply experience.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification: BLS (Basic Life Support) from the American Heart Association or Military Training Network.
- Citizenship: U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Must pass a VA Public Trust Clearance.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for prolonged periods.
Schedule & Benefits
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts (rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed).
- Pay: Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
