Job Opening: Quality Mechanical Supervisor
Location: Charlotte, NC
Schedule: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Compensation: $85,000 annually
Requirement: Prior manufacturing experience is a must
About the Role
We are seeking a Quality Mechanical Supervisor to lead and oversee quality assurance within our fabrication, paint, and assembly departments. This role works closely with the Mechanical Department Manager, Production Manager, QA, and Engineering teams to ensure the highest standards of quality and compliance. The supervisor will play a key role in inspections, audits, continuous improvement, and ensuring that project quality objectives are met from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, guide, and support Quality Coordinators to ensure compliance with best practices, work procedures, and quality standards.
- Oversee and schedule inspections, testing, and audits throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor KPIs, prepare reports, and lead management review meetings.
- Troubleshoot inspection issues, recommend corrective actions, and support root cause analysis to minimize NCRs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including PFMEA, quality risk assessments, and corrective/preventive actions.
- Support ISO 9001 quality systems (internal/external audits, document control, NCR/CAR processes).
- Partner with engineering and production during project design reviews and kickoff meetings.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and conduct regular safety talks.
- Serve as an expert resource in product quality processes (welding, NDT, painting, assembly, etc.).
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma in Mechanical, Industrial, or Quality Engineering/Technology (preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing.
- Strong background in ISO 9001 quality systems and proven ISO 9001 internal auditor.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, and quality documentation systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety regulations.
- Willingness to travel within North America (valid passport and driver’s license required).
