Marathon Staffing is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Microbiologist I to support laboratory operations in Dallas, TX. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about healthcare and laboratory science to contribute to vital diagnostic work in a collaborative environment.
About the Role:
- Perform a variety of technical tasks and laboratory procedures to support disease diagnosis and treatment.
- Prepare samples, conduct tests, and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect, label, and prepare biological samples such as blood, urine, and tissue.
- Conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests including hematology, microbiology, chemistry, and immunology.
- Accurately record and analyze test results using laboratory information systems (LIS).
- Participate in quality control and maintenance of laboratory instruments.
- Follow all safety protocols, including PPE use and hazardous waste disposal.
- Interact with patients to collect samples and provide information about procedures.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or equivalent from a recognized certifying agency such as ASCP.
- Prior experience in a clinical laboratory setting is a plus.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques, strong analytical skills, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with LIS.
