We’re looking for an experienced Aircraft Engine Builder to join this elite team. In this role, you’ll assemble and test high-performance piston aircraft engines, ensuring every build meets exacting standards for quality, performance, and reliability. This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in their craft and thrives in a detail-driven environment.Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble, repair, and test engine subcomponents to manufacturer specifications
- Interpret and apply Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, and overhaul manuals
- Inspect and verify all parts (new or used) prior to installation
- Review and confirm repair documentation from outside vendors
- Perform precision measurements using micrometers, bore gauges, and other tools
- Conduct thorough inspections during assembly to ensure compliance and quality
- Test engine performance using approved shop methods and equipment
- Diagnose and correct any operational issues during testing
- Maintain detailed and accurate build records
- Support the Shop Foreman or General Manager with additional shop needs
What We’re Looking For:
- 4+ years of aircraft engine build/maintenance experience
- Will also consider skilled diesel or motorcycle mechanics with precision engine assembly/building experience
- Strong understanding of reciprocating aircraft engine function and theory
- Skilled with precision measurement tools (vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, snap gauges)
- Solid math skills and attention to detail
- Pride in workmanship and commitment to quality
- Owns basic hand tools
- Preferred: FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license
