· Designs and produces high-quality visual materials for digital, print, and multimedia platforms.
· Creates graphics, infographics, illustrations, presentations, animations, and assets for press kits, media events, conferences, exhibits, social media, and video productions.
· Translates complex scientific, technical, and policy information into clear, visually compelling designs.
· Ensures all visual products adhere to NSF branding and Section 508 accessibility standards (e.g., color contrast, alt text, accessible PDFs).
· Collaborates with researchers, writers, editors, and OLPA staff to ensure accuracy and clarity.
· Uses Adobe Creative Cloud and related tools to develop and optimize visual content.
· Provides technical and artistic guidance to NSF staff; supports special or surge initiatives.
Education Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Fine Arts, Digital Media, or a related field; or
· Equivalent professional experience.
Experience / Qualifications
· Minimum 5 years of professional graphic design experience.
· Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign; After Effects preferred).
· Experience producing accessible, federal-compliant visual products.
· Experience supporting science-focused or public-sector communications preferred.
