Machine Operator – 1st & 2nd Shift
San Diego, CA | $19.50/hr (1st shift) | $21.45/hr (2nd shift)
Shift Schedules:

1st Shift: Monday–Friday | Start time between 5:00–6:00am

2nd Shift: Monday–Friday | Start time between 2:00–3:00pm | Ends ~11:00pm
Position Overview
We are seeking reliable and detail-oriented Machine Operators to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating equipment, maintaining accurate production records, and supporting material handling tasks in a clean and safe work environment.
This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods (in 2-hour increments), perform repetitive motions, and follow all safety and PPE requirements. Candidates must also be able to safely operate machinery and use a pallet jack.
Key Responsibilities

Operate manufacturing equipment according to procedures and specifications

Monitor and record equipment performance in operational logbooks

Assist technicians with troubleshooting and preventative maintenance

Handle, weigh, and verify raw materials and components

Maintain segregation of materials, lots, and receiving numbers

Perform manual and automated manufacturing tasks as assigned

Maintain clean, safe, and compliant work areas (GMP, safety, SOPs)

Complete accurate documentation and production records

Report unresolved issues to supervisor or management

Support housekeeping, stocking, and other daily lab responsibilities
Physical Demands

Lift, move, and carry up to 50 lbs

Stand, walk, bend, and reach regularly; some sitting required

Exposure to mechanical equipment, vibration, moderate noise, and chemicals

Must wear required PPE (including safety shoes with impact/compression protection)
Qualifications
-
High School Diploma or GED required
-
0–2 years of related manufacturing or machine operation experience
-
Basic computer skills and ability to maintain accurate records

Familiarity with GMP, QSR, ISO, or laboratory procedures preferred

Strong attention to detail, time management, and willingness to learn

Bloodborne Pathogen training a plus
