Job DescriptionDescription:

The Swaging Operator is responsible for the setup, operation, adjustments and repairs to the equipment to optimize production.

  • Threads lead wire from reel overtake up pulleys and through feed mechanism and between forming wheels.
  • Starts machine and observes feeding, forming, and ejecting mechanisms to detect malfunction.
  • Examines finished pieces for malformation and damaged cable.
  • Verifies cable dimensions, using job card specifications.
  • May make minor adjustments and routine maintenance such as replacing worn dies, using hand tools.
  • Completes all appropriate paperwork for swaging process and prints spool labels if needed.
  • Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Prior swaging experience preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrates ability to self-motivate and to problem solve in a fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must have good documentation practice.
  • A proven understanding of part workmanship.
  • Communication skills - must have good listening skills in addition to excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Must be capable and willing to share knowledge and train associates.
  • Ability to analyze data and make recommendations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing defects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to seek and accept feedback from others.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 months of ABI manufacturing various small assembly parts.

Working conditions

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, ambient air, fumes or airborne particles
  • The noise level in the work environment is high, requiring safety equipment to be utilized at all times.

Physical requirements

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Candidate must be able to perform the physical responsibilities of the job utilizing arms, hands, and fingers to perform complex functions of manufacturing parts and performing other duties of the job; e.g., standing, sitting, walking throughout the facility and stairs, bending, squatting, and kneeling, etc.
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.


Pay: $17.00 - $21.00/ hour

The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, education, etc.
