Job Description
Morgner Construction Management is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to support project within Riverside County. This is a role supporting heavy civil construction activities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Morgner provides safety management services across complex infrastructure projects including airports, highways, tunnels, and large-scale civil works. This role is critical in ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with project-specific Construction Safety and Security requirements
- Lead and participate in all safety meetings, trainings, and toolbox talks
- Conduct daily field safety observations and document work activities, hazards, and corrective actions
- Perform routine site walks to identify safety risks, deficiencies, and opportunities for improvement
- Review construction equipment, personnel activities, work procedures, and traffic control plans
- Provide real-time coaching and intervention to address unsafe or noncompliant activities
- Identify and communicate hazards or security concerns with contractors and project teams
- Prepare and submit daily safety reports with supporting documentation and photos
- Respond to incidents and assist with investigations as needed
- Support additional safety and security functions as directed
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy civil, tunnel, or vertical construction
- Active CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) certification required
- OSHA 30 (Cal-OSHA/OSHA) certification required
- Current First Aid & CPR certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering, or related field preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods across active construction sites
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and navigate elevated work areas
- Ability to bend, crouch, and access confined or restricted areas
