Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with outpatient experience for a 13-week contract at an outpatient PT clinic in Pittsfield, ME.

Details

  • Outpatient PT clinic setting in Pittsfield, ME
  • Patient population includes outpatient orthopedic, outpatient neuro (strokes, TBI), history of falls, back/shoulder pain, deconditioning, post-op, and hip/knee replacements
  • Schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 7:00AM–5:30PM, with flexibility available if needed
  • No floating, weekend rotation, call, or holiday coverage required
  • EMR: Cerner Millennium
  • Standard outpatient PT equipment in use, including ultrasound, e-stim, traction, exercise bike, treadmill, and strength training equipment

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of PT experience, with outpatient experience required; first-time travelers considered with 5+ years of experience and outpatient background
  • PT state license required — compact or ME license required for consideration
  • BLS certification required
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Physical Therapy required
  • Proficiency in outpatient PT modalities including ultrasound, e-stim, traction, and exercise equipment
  • Proven competency to independently evaluate and treat outpatient patients
  • Full SSN required for consideration
  • Driver's license required for consideration
  • 2 references within the past year required, with at least one from a supervisor, manager, or director (charge nurse acceptable; peer references not accepted)
  • Copies of all certifications required for consideration
  • Flu vaccination required for clearance to start

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include independent evaluation and treatment of outpatient patients across orthopedic and neurological conditions
  • Department team consists of 3 PTs total; Director of Rehab and Supervisor are available by phone when not on-site; a scheduler handles patient scheduling
  • Orientation is a minimum of 2 days prior to independent patient care, with preceptor support provided until the traveler is ready to work independently — duration is based on individual skillset and comfort level
  • Dress code: business casual; closed-toe shoes required; no jeans (except Fridays), no graphic t-shirts; scrubs must be solid color with no graphics, logos, or designs
  • On-site parking available
  • Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved; all RTO must be submitted at the time of consideration
  • Candidates must not have previously worked at any Northern Light Health Hospital in a permanent capacity
