Now Hiring Maintenance Parts Clerk:

Position Description:

The Maintenance Coordinator activities include standard purchasing functionality, specifically sourcing, pricing, receiving, stocking, and inventory control of physical inventory.

Essential Functions:

  • Apply purchasing and scheduling policies and principles to analyze and execute daily, weekly, and monthly work tasks to achieve targeted objectives.
  • Maintains the Maintenance parts physical inventory, organization and protocol for usage and replenishment
  • Prepare purchasing and spending reports daily.
  • Prepare and coordinate execution of the purchase requisitions, approvals, purchase orders and reconcile with POD’s and invoices being sent to Accounting weekly.
  • Lead assigned projects regarding, Material Requirement Planning, purchasing, receiving, stocking and inventory control.
  • As requested, be able to functionally work with MP2 system to create standards reports and issue work orders to personnel as instructed.
  • Ensure that all vendors have signed Confidentiality Agreements, furnished Liability insurance with Sterling being named on the certificate.
  • Administer the reporting of weekly downtime for weekly review, including feedback of 5 why’s and next steps on major items.
  • Develop recommendations to improve inefficiencies within realm of job assignments or other problems that adversely affect plant operations. These problems include capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues.
  • Support continual improvement in plant operations.
  • Accountable for reporting to management on department spending against budget.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED or vocational training
  • A minimum of 3 years of purchasing or planning/scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment maintenance supervisory experience
  • Food maintenance industry experience preferred
  • Background with processing and packaging equipment a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of food safety requirements such as GMP Standards, HACCP, SQF Certification.
  • A working understanding and ability to input and export appropriate data from MP2 and ROSS enterprise system.
  • Positive attitude and highly organized to manage simultaneous projects.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform all responsibilities with limited supervision.
  • Prepare required paperwork or reports as needed.
  • Good written and oral English communications skills. Written or oral communication skills in languages other than English a plus.
  • Positive attitude and highly organized to manage simultaneous projects.
  • Excellent computer skills with working knowledge of MS Office Suite, specifically MS Excel, and MP2.
