Within our Diversion Services is the Forensic-Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness, better known as our F-PATH team. The F-PATH Program is a voluntary intensive outreach program that works with adults with severe persistent behavioral health issues. The Washington State Health Care Authority contracts with CHMHA to find and offer services to people who have had multiple requests for competency evaluations in the last two years.Our F-PATH team provides free companion-based case management to help people connect to resources with the goal of connecting people in our program to long term behavioral health treatment to break their cycle of incarcerations.
Our Diversion Services here at CHMHA has a fantastic opening for an FPATH Certified Peer Specialist.
Our Certified Peer Specialist will serve as an advocate and provide peer support services to individuals in our community who have been deemed not competent to stand trial. This program works closely with the Health Care Authority as well as DSHS Forensic Navigators in regaining control over their own lives and over their own recovery process. The Certified Peer Counselor will model competency in recovery and ongoing coping skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in articulating enrolled individuals personal goals and identifying problems and barriers for recovery when requested
Assist in determining objectives needed to reach recovery goals
Understanding and utilizing specific interventions necessary to assist in recovery goals
Teach enrolled individual how to identify and combat issues such as negative self-talk and fears
Assist in setting up and sustaining self-help (mutual support) groups
Provide housing assistance and support to enrolled individual when requested
Model effective coping techniques and self-help strategies
Utilize and teach problem solving techniques with enrolled individual and groups
Utilize personal recovery experience to role model the value of recovery
Develop and share recovery-oriented material with other CPCs at continuing education assemblies
Review daily log and documents after each shift and communicate other staff members of any emergency situations
Chart relevant daily interaction with clients within the peer support day program and/or support groups which provide support and assess their progress
Attend all relevant seminars, meetings, and trainings- Assist in staffing the drop-in/resource center
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Current First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire
Have legible handwriting
Ability to do simple mathematics
Ability to read and comprehend agency/client charts
Valid drivers license and clean driving record in order to use agency vehicles
Completion and graduation from the Washington State Peer Counselor training or approval by Health Care Authority
Experience with target population or ability to acquire specialized training to work with target population
Ability to perform duties outlined in description within reasonable accommodation
