Robert Half Permanent Placement is excited to partner with an innovative Steel Fabricator in Olean, NY on their search for a skilled and qualified Environmental Health and Safety Manager. This crucial role will offer leadership and innovation for opportunities for a safety-focused professional with manufacturing experience. This is a Direct Hire position with a starting salary of $90,000 - $120,000 and a comprehensive benefits package.


Please note: relocation expenses may be offered for the right candidate! The facility is right in the middle of Olean near the university, restaurants, entertainment and much more!

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Lead and manage Environmental Health & Safety programs within a manufacturing/structural steel fabrication environment to ensure compliance with all OSHA, EPA, and state/local regulations
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and environmental compliance programs across plant operations
  • Conduct regular plant safety audits and inspections, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions to improve workplace safety
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures
  • Deliver safety training and education programs to employees to promote safe work practices and a strong safety culture
  • Monitor compliance and prepare safety reports, documentation, and regulatory filings while maintaining accurate records
  • Partner with plant leadership and employees to ensure safe equipment use, hazard prevention, and continuous improvement of safety programs
  • Serve as the primary contact during OSHA, EPA, and insurance inspections, supporting audits and ensuring regulatory compliance


  • Relevant Safety Certifications: OSHA 30-Hour, ASP, CSP, OSHA 500 Outreach Trainer, and First Aid/CPR/AED certifications preferred
  • Degree in Safety Management, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field (or equivalent experience) with 5+ years of safety management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Regulatory & Safety Expertise: Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other federal, state, and local safety regulations, including experience with incident investigations, safety audits, and safe work practices
  • Technical & Professional Skills: Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities; proficient in MS Office and ERP/company management systems
