EB Welder – Non-Exempt

The Electron Beam (EB) welder operator will prepare, arrange, fit, assemble and EB weld a variety of materials (stainless, carbon, nickel alloy, cobalt alloy etc.), and components using a CNC controlled Electron Beam Welding machines. Will perform a variety of repetitive, routine and less critical welding operations and appropriate setups within the limits of clearly established practices and procedures, under the direction of the EB Supervisor or lead person.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Apply EB welding processes to various parts, assemblies, and components
Set-up, program, and operate EB and CNC controls for the EB welding process
Interpret and execute production using drawings and blueprints
Planning and general set up of EB welding operations in the facility, semi-manual and/or automatic, within the limits of certifications in accordance with customer
requirements and current methods and process sheets
Check welds visually and dimensionally with precision measuring instruments for conformance to blueprints and specifications
Utilize working knowledge of welding practice and weld-ability of current metal groups within their certification
Under supervision, measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers.
Maintain records and document in-process inspection data as required.
Work with a variety of materials, including steel, copper, aluminum, titanium, Inconel, and other precious metals.
Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to help diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine the need for adjustments or repairs.
Perform basic machine maintenance as required to maintain part quality and quantity standards.
Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment in order to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter.
Report faulty or unusual conditions to the appropriate level of supervision.

Must be a “US Person” as defined by US Government and able to work without restriction with ITAR related data.
Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English at a functional level.

Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift, push, or pull at least 50 lbs.
Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend, and move about our facility
Requirements:
Must have sheet metal fabrications skills, familiar with assembly/disassembly procedures
Must be able to Set-up, program and operate EB and CNC controls for the welding process
Minimum of 5 years’ experience using CNC controlled EB welding equipment
Experience with aerospace alloys such as Stainless Steel, Inconel, Titanium, Coba
lt, and Alum
Experience with in-process use of FPI a plus
