Job Summary:

Compliance Management International is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Health and Safety Professional with 3–5 years of experience in general industry environments to support our chemical manufacturing operations.

Job Description:

  • Possess strong knowledge in all aspects of Manufacturing Safety; lab safety, chemical safety, lockout/tagout, contractor safety, confined space, hot work permits, PPE assessments, site inspections, etc. well as proficient in hazard communication
  • Must have a keen eye for details and be adept at recognizing and complying with government regulations (OSHA 1910) and industry-specific safety standards
  • Employ excellent communication skills when providing jobsite safety orientation and skillful in mentoring/coaching employees in safe work practices
  • Conduct routine (daily and weekly) workplace safety inspections and prepare written reports on their findings
  • Proficiency in reviewing safety data sheets (SDSs) for chemicals brought onsite
  • Inspection work areas to ensure compliance with work standards
  • Ensure employees have proper PPE / safety equipment
  • Update current or prepare new job hazard assessments
  • Inspect hazardous materials storage and waste storage areas
  • Implement client's specific work standards
  • Incident reporting and investigations
  • Participate in audits

Requirements:

  • EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety or related field
  • EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years' of relevant experience (manufacturing / general industry)
  • LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: GSP or ASP preferred
  • TRAVEL: None required.
  • OTHER:
    • Submit to and satisfactorily complete pre-employment background, medical, alcohol, and drug screening.
    • Must possess a valid Driver's License.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk, stand, or climb ladders/stairs for extended periods within an industrial plant environment.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE including respirators, hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, and hearing protection.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally.
  • Work in both indoor and outdoor conditions, including temperature variations and exposure to dust, fumes, and chemical substances.
  • Must be able to respond to emergency situations, including alarms, spill response, and evacuation procedures.

Work Environment:

This position is based at a chemical/pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. The role requires routine presence in production areas, laboratories, and storage locations with exposure to potentially hazardous materials. Strict adherence to site safety protocols is mandatory.
