Job Requirements

  • Current license as a registered professional nurse with active Virginia state license required at time of application
  • Graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia program
  • Certified or recertified by the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA certification)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments and optimize patients for surgery — perioperative anesthesia care for general and orthopedic cases
  • Obtain and verify informed patient consent; discuss anesthetic options, risks, and plan with patients and surgical team
  • Induce, maintain, and emerge patients from anesthesia for general and orthopedic procedures
  • Continuously monitor and manage patients’ physiological status throughout procedures using standard anesthesia monitoring
  • Perform clinical interventions as needed in coordination with the anesthesia team and supervising physician to ensure safe anesthetic care
