Job Requirements
- Current license as a registered professional nurse with active Virginia state license required at time of application
- Graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia program
- Certified or recertified by the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA certification)
Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments and optimize patients for surgery — perioperative anesthesia care for general and orthopedic cases
- Obtain and verify informed patient consent; discuss anesthetic options, risks, and plan with patients and surgical team
- Induce, maintain, and emerge patients from anesthesia for general and orthopedic procedures
- Continuously monitor and manage patients’ physiological status throughout procedures using standard anesthesia monitoring
- Perform clinical interventions as needed in coordination with the anesthesia team and supervising physician to ensure safe anesthetic care
