About Us
The North American Veterinary Blood Bank (NAVBB) is seeking a Veterinary Technician or Assistant to join our growing Richmond team. This is a unique opportunity to use your technical skills in a rewarding role that saves animal lives daily — without the long nights, weekends, or emergency stress common in clinics.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Perform jugular blood draws and advanced phlebotomy on canine donors
- Conduct pre-donation screenings to ensure donor health and eligibility
- Assist with processing, labeling, and proper storage of blood products
- Complete quality control (QC) checks to maintain compliance and safety standards
- Lead a small, supportive team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Manage day-to-day aspects of the team
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven phlebotomy experience in a clinical or hospital setting
- Comfortable working with large, young, and energetic dogs
- Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Must have previous management experience
