We are seeking a skilled and friendly Optician with at least 2 years of hands-on experience working in an optical practice. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, detail-oriented, and confident in all aspects of eyewear sales and dispensing.
Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with frame and lens selection based on prescription, lifestyle, and budget
- Sell, dispense, and adjust eyeglasses to ensure proper fit and comfort
- Take accurate measurements (PD, seg height, etc.)
- Interpret and verify eyeglass prescriptions
- Work with vision insurance plans to explain benefits, coverage, and out-of-pocket costs
- Submit and track insurance claims accurately
- Troubleshoot eyewear issues and provide adjustments and repairs
- Deliver excellent customer service and build long-term patient relationships
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional optical area
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in an optical setting
- Strong knowledge of lenses, frames, and eyewear materials
- Experience working with vision insurance plans (VSP, EyeMed, Davis Vision, etc. a plus)
- Excellent communication and sales skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, professional, and patient-focused
Preferred Qualifications:
- ABO certification (preferred but not required)
- Experience with EHR or optical management software
