Job Description: Site Inspector II
Rate: $20 to $40 (Based on visit type)
Position Overview
Location: AL, CT, DE, DC, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, ME, MD, MA, MI, MS, NH, NJ, NY, NC, OH, PA, RI, SC, TN, VT, VA, WV, WI
Position Summary:
The Site Inspector II conducts physical and observational site visits to verify the operational status of Medicare and Medicaid providers and suppliers in accordance with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) protocols. Inspectors are responsible for collecting accurate, real-time data to support program integrity and compliance initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform on-site physical observation and in-depth (IDTF) inspections following CMS standards and protocols.
- Verify provider and supplier business operations through direct observation and brief interviews.
- Capture required documentation, including geo-tagged photographs, and submit inspection data in real time using the FSA mobile application.
- Adhere to CMS requirements for professionalism, confidentiality, safety, and data integrity.
- Complete inspections within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs), including urgent 48-hour and 7-day inspection timelines.
- Maintain accurate and timely reporting in accordance with contract and regulatory requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in field inspection, law enforcement, auditing, program integrity, or a related field.
- Ability to successfully pass federal and contract-specific background investigations.
- Ability to pass required drug screening in accordance with contract and client policies.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States and able to provide valid work authorization documentation.
- Must reside in or be available to work within the Eastern United States to meet required response times and scheduling needs.
- Ability to complete all CMS-required and contract-mandated training (typically within an eight-hour timeframe) and demonstrate competency with required systems and procedures.
All inspectors must complete CMS-approved training prior to conducting independent inspections and maintain required certifications.
