Monday-Friday 8am-4pm (fully onsite) - no prior clinical research experience needed.
6 month contract to full-time hire with the company.
Clinical Research Nurse opportunity with a large research institute that has openings at both their St. Petersburg and Largo sites.
There are two separate openings, and they require:
- Surgery prepping experience
- Active RN license
- Direct hospital setting experience
Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Adhere to the organization's Code of Conduct, Mission, and Value Statement.
- Complete all assigned training requirements by designated due dates.
- Accurately complete study medication order forms and obtain physician or authorized designee signatures prior to administration or treatment changes.
- Perform routine operational activities across multiple research protocols and serve as a liaison between site personnel, industry sponsors, and supervisors.
- Collaborate with site departments/teams, including finance, hospital administration, and local IRB (as applicable).
- Coordinate protocol schedules of assessments from feasibility submission through study closeout.
- Manage submissions and approvals for the Site's Facility Review Committee, if required.
- Educate staff on research protocols, including interpretation of test results, observations, and study data for physicians, nurses, and clinical staff.
- Conduct patient assessments at each clinic visit and document all findings per protocol.
- Maintain complete documentation of all required tasks (e.g., medication forms, QoL questionnaires, neuro exams, vital signs, lab draw times).
- Ensure proper approval of all medications prior to initiation or regimen adjustments.
- Accurately calculate/document BSA, creatinine, STS, and other protocol-specific conversions.
- Record all patient interactions while enrolled on protocol (including follow-up, survival, home health interventions, pharmacies, and phone calls).
- Schedule follow-up appointments, imaging, and procedures per protocol requirements.
- Complete and submit data requests (including queries) with source documentation within SOP timelines.
- Manage and track drug, device, and supply shipments.
- Ensure timely and accurate data entry and reporting.
- Track and report adverse events, serious adverse events, protocol waivers, deviations, and violations, and escalate issues to appropriate personnel/management.
- Re-consent patients as needed, ensuring timely documentation of the process.
