Excel Orthopaedic Specialists is hiring!! We are a busy Orthopaedic practice looking to hire an experienced Medical Billing Representative to add to our expanding team. Our facility consists of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Physiatry Professionals, Physician Assistants, Occupational and Certified Hand Therapists and Physical Therapy. THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION.
• Responsible for reviewing and entering charges for Orthopedic MD visits, surgeries, PA visits, ED consults.
• Post insurance payments, work denials and rejections, follow up on any unpaid or denied claims in a timely manner
• Post patient payments
• Maintain detailed records of claim submissions, correspondences and resolutions
• Work with insurance companies, healthcare providers or other relevant parties to resolve claim denials.
• Process patient and/or insurance refunds as needed
• Assist with entry-level coding tasks
• Responds to questions and requests from leadership, providers, payers and patients
• Communicate with patients to resolve account issues and secure payment arrangements.
• Reconcile daily batch payment
• Answer and handle phone calls to the billing department
• Other duties as assigned by the Billing & Insurance Manager
Requirements:
• 2-4 years of medical billing experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Basic understanding of billing practices and terminology.
• Ability to multitask, work independently and within a team environment.
• Comfortable discussing billing matters with patients and insurance companies.
• Detail oriented, dependable and self-motivated
• High School diploma required, Bachelor's degree or Certified Professional Billing (CPB) or Certified Professional Coding (CPC) certificate preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with medical billing software is a plus.
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of eClinicalWorks and MS Office is a plus.
• Position is located in the office. This is NOT a remote-work position.
