Light of the World Clinic, a nonprofit dedicated to serving low-income and uninsured residents of Broward County, FL, is seeking a compassionate Bilingual (English/Spanish) Family Practice Nurse Practitioner. This part-time role involves providing direct primary care, managing chronic diseases, and supporting preventive health in a collaborative, multidisciplinary clinical environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive patient care, including health assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, and chronic disease management
- Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests as appropriate
- Collaborate with volunteer physicians, medical assistants, and case managers within the clinical team
- Document patient care in real-time using the clinic’s electronic health record system (AthenaNet) and provide end-of-day summaries
- Promote patient education focused on preventive health practices
- Supervise medical assistants to ensure quality care delivery
- Participate in occasional community outreach and professional development opportunities
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years clinical nursing practice experience
- Nurse Practitioner degree with current Florida Nurse Practitioner license
- Board Certification in Family Practice
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
- Experience with electronic health records, specifically AthenaNet
- Strong skills in clinical assessment, chronic disease management, and patient communication
- Proficiency in medication prescription and preventive health education
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
