Job Description

The Pipe Welder will be responsible for welding and fabricating metal pipes and components according to specifications and blueprints. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality welds on a variety of materials, with extensive experience using various welding techniques, a keen eye for detail, and a strong commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Determine appropriate welding methods and equipment based on materials and project specifications.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment, ensuring proper settings and performing routine maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with all procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Adhere to all required safety protocols, using appropriate PPE and following company guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete projects accurately and efficiently.
  • Document welding activities, including materials used, techniques applied, and any issues encountered.
  • Troubleshoot and repair welding defects as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed and materials used.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including assembly when necessary.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in welding tasks on metal pipes, structures, beams, columns, and other components according to project specifications.
  • 5+ years of experience in preparing and fitting pipes and components by cleaning, cutting, beveling, and aligning materials for welding.
  • Proficiency in MIG, TIG, Stick, and other welding techniques to join, repair, or fabricate metal parts.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine welding requirements.
  • Expertise in inspecting welded joints and components to ensure quality and compliance with safety and industry standards, making adjustments as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in pipe fitting and blueprint reading.

Work Environment

This position operates on a first shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, with a 30-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks. The work environment is a clean shop.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $31.00/hr.
