Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Shift & Scheduling Details

• Shift: Mid Shift

• Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts per week

• Shift Time: 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

• Requested Time Off (RTO): Minimal RTO preferred

Role Overview

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse provides direct patient care in a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency setting, supporting both adult and pediatric populations. This role requires strong clinical skills, rapid decision-making, and the ability to manage patients with complex and emergent conditions.

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN license (pending licenses not accepted)

• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience

• First-time travelers accepted

• Required Certifications:

  • BLS

  • ACLS

  • PALS

  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Required Clinical Skills

• General Emergency Department nursing (combined adult and pediatric care)

• Interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias

• Care of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure

• Blood product administration

• Central line care and management

• IV therapy, including phlebotomy and IV initiation

• Continuous IV paralytics and sedation

• Emergency medication administration

• IV vasopressor management

• Procedural sedation administration

• Stroke (CVA) care

• Infection control and isolation precautions

Unit & Patient Care Details

• Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:5 (mixed and shared acuity levels)

• Patient Population: Adult and Pediatric

Documentation & Systems

• Electronic Charting: Epic (preferred/required)
