Position Overview
The Part-Time Non-Profit Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting grant and contract tracking, and assisting with monthly reporting. This role is ideal for a finance professional with experience in nonprofit accounting who is seeking part-time, meaningful work in a mission-focused setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and reconcile financial transactions in accordance with GAAP and fund accounting principles.
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable, including vendor payments and invoicing.
- Support grant and contract tracking, including reporting on restricted and unrestricted funds.
- Assist with monthly and quarterly financial reports.
- Help prepare for audits and maintain accurate records for compliance purposes.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of nonprofit accounting experience preferred.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Understanding of fund accounting and nonprofit financial compliance.
