About the Role:

The Machine Operator plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process, ensuring that production machinery operates efficiently and effectively. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining equipment and press machines. The primary goal is to produce high-quality products while adhering to safety standards and production schedules. Machine Operators will also be tasked with troubleshooting any issues that arise during the production process, minimizing downtime and maximizing output. Ultimately, the success of the manufacturing operation relies heavily on the skills and diligence of the Machine Operator.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Ability to read and interpret machine setup sheets, production work orders, and process instructions to ensure accurate settings, and part quality.
  • Familiarity with computer usage and typing.
  • Physical stamina for standing, walking, stretching, reaching, bending, and stooping.
  • Ability to continuously lift up to 10lbs and occasionally lift up to 55lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with production machinery and tools, including press machines and overhead cranes.
  • Experience with injection molding machines and advanced production techniques.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate production machinery, including assembly line equipment and press machines.
  • Monitor machinery performance and make adjustments as necessary to ensure optimal production output.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machines to prevent breakdowns.
  • Utilize overhead cranes and clamp trucks to transport materials and finished products safely.
  • Conduct quality checks using tools such as micrometers and deburring equipment to ensure product specifications are met.

Skills:

The required skills for this position are essential for the daily operations of a manufacturing facility. Proficiency in operating assembly line and press machines allows the Machine Operator to efficiently produce goods while maintaining quality standards. The ability to use precision & trimming tools to ensure that all products meet the necessary specifications. Additionally, troubleshooting skills are vital for quickly resolving any machinery issues, thereby minimizing production delays and maintaining workflow.
