Position Title: Sanitor A
Position Reports To: Sanitation Supervisor/Manager
Job Type: Full Time/Hourly

Position Summary:
The Baily Sanitor A will focus on the daily sanitation of the production facility, and production equipment. The Sanitor A will ensure the fryer, spiral freezer(s), mixers, dicers, grinders and other equipment are disassembled, cleaned, sanitized, and reassembled as required. A person in this role will also be assigned to Sanitor B tasks including the cleaning of tubs, utensils, conveyors, and garbage receptacles are maintained in a clean and organized manner in compliance with USDA and cGMP standards. This is not an entry level position and is designed for those with a minimum of a year of Sanitor B experience, and/or sanitation experience in other food manufacturing companies, and a certain level of mechanical abilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Using chemicals, tools and water scrub, clean, rinse and sanitize all production equipment requires a level of expertise and mechanical ability to be able is disassemble, clean, sanitize, reassemble and operate as instructed and as documented in the SOP’s
- Inspect and document on the daily cleaning steps utilized to clean and sanitize equipment
- Cover required Electrical Conduits and Power Supply Boxes to prevent moisture and water damage
- Follow Master Sanitation Plan and Good Documentation Practices for the frequency and cleaning schedule of assigned areas and tasks
- Clean and maintain a clean safe waste dock area
- Manage and execute the Master Sanitation Schedule
- Learn and understand the proper names, uses of chemical and appropriate safety measures
- Perform all of the duties and responsibilities of a Sanitor II
- Clean all areas assigned by a lead or Supervisor during operating hours
- Comply with Company policies and safety requirements
- Provide proper protection and cover all electrical outlets, Plugs and Power supply boxes to prevent potential water damage and electrocution
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills to include team building and oral communication
- Ability to work evenings and weekends/hours as needed
- Ability to read and understand procedures and policies and write in English
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to disassemble and reassemble equipment in a safe and timely manner
- Work as a team with in fast paced environment
- Detail-Oriented
- Multitasking
- Take on special projects as assigned by management
- Bilingual is preferred, but not required
- Ability to read and write and speak English
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience with GMP and HACCP required
- Understanding of OSHA regulations
- Prior sanitation experience in a USDA food production environment
Work Environment and Potential Job Hazards:
- Work requires ability to work for sustained periods of time maintaining concentrated attention to detail.
- Work will require the daily use of pallet jacks, forklifts, and manlifts
- Work involves working around moving conveyors, mixers, dicers/grinders, and mechanical parts
- Work area maybe wet and/or humid as part of normal operations
- Work area temperatures maybe ranging from -15⁰F to 100⁰F
- Exposure to toxic chemical fumes
- Chemical hazards: ammonia for refrigeration (Waycross); Chemicals used for sanitation
- Often requires the need to work within a confined space
Physical Demands:
- Generally the work can be physically demanding in nature
- Regular walking, sitting, stooping, reaching, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling
- Lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 lbs.
- High level of dexterity and coordination
- Specific vison requirements such as; close up, distance, peripheral vision, ability to adjust focus, depth perception
Required PPE:
- Safety footwear that meets or exceeds OSHA standards
- Smock when handling product
- Hair net
- Beard net
- Safety glasses
- Cut resistant gloves
- Raincoat and rubber suit
- Rubber boots
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position.
Travel
