Accounting Director- Food Manufacturing

ISC’s team of Hospitality Recruiters is partnering with a leading food manufacturer in North America, on an Accounting Director opportunity. This rapidly growing company is not only well known for cultivating produce/manufacturing products, but also a positive and supportive workplace for their employees. In this role you will report directly to the CFO andcollaborate across departments to drive accounting efficiency and provide financial insights that contribute to strategic decision-making for the Value-Added Finance team (Manufacturing/Distribution).The Accounting Director will report onsite during onboarding process, and then WFH up to 2 days a week thereafter.

In this exciting Accounting Director opportunity, you will play a key role by leading and supporting the financial operations of specific business segments, overseeing accounts payable/receivable, financial reporting, and compliance. The ideal Accounting Director will be sharp, detail-driven, and a great communicator who will add value leading a dynamic team. An accounting professional with strong leadership skills, coming out of a large manufacturing or distribution company supporting multiple entities would be a strong fit.

Accounting Director Requirements- To qualify, you should have the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field, required (CPA or CMA, a plus)
• Demonstrated experience leading accounting/finance team of 4+ reports, required
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Experience in multi-entity financial reporting and consolidations (min of 2 General Ledgers managed withing one role)
• Proficient in accounts payable/receivable, budgeting, and forecasting
• Skilled in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite, with experience using Power BI, a plus
• Background in manufacturing or distribution/foodservice/agriculture, preferred

Accounting Director Responsibilities- Duties for this role are:

• Document/maintain records of operational workflows impacting financial reporting
• Review Profit & Loss statements, lead schedules, and balance sheet reconciliations prepared by Finance Managers
• Partner with Consolidation and Corporate Administration teams to ensure consistent financial reporting across the enterprise
• Lead, manage, and develop Finance Managers and their respective teams
• Support Finance Managers in overcoming challenges, driving efficiencies, and ensuring accurate, timely reporting to executive leadership
• Design/implement budgeting and forecasting models for designated business units
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, industry standards, and executive directives through effective team oversight
• Collaborate with operations leaders, general managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver actionable financial insights that support business decisions
• Work with the Consolidation team to ensure accurate and complete intercompany eliminations
• Provide support during annual financial statement audit process
• Oversee billing, AP, and collections processes for assigned entities to ensure timeliness and accuracy
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end close processes, including journal entry review and approval
• Set clear performance expectations for team members and hold accountable for assigned responsibilities
• Maintain general ledger and associated modules for assigned entities, ensuring accuracy and integrity
• Manage/update UKG general ledger rules and configurations
• Ensure appropriate segregation of duties within team and address gaps identified in financial operations
• Generate payroll-related data as required for assigned business units
• Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements to enhance accuracy and workflow
• Assist with implementation of new processes and financial software solutions in coordination with the Consolidation Team
• Maintain and reconcile intercompany transactions in collaboration with other business segment leaders
