Clinical Laboratory Technician
Job Description
The Neuroimmunology Laboratory provides a unique clinical autoimmune serology service by bridging autoimmune neurology practice and cutting-edge research. Tests performed on serum and spinal fluid aid the diagnosis of autoimmune disorders affecting the brain, nerve, and muscle, which often reflect immune responses initiated by unsuspected cancer. The lab has experienced significant growth, performing approximately 2.2 million tests in 2022, and is implementing an automation line to enhance testing efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Support the Neuroimmunology laboratory with medical laboratory testing.
- Perform instrument troubleshooting.
- Conduct tests using methodologies such as fluorescence microscopy, radioimmunoassays, flow cytometry, western blot, ELISA, and chemiluminescence assays.
- Assist in specimen processing and handling.
- Contribute to the implementation of automation processes.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a human biological science, such as Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Animal Science, Marine Biology, Neuroscience.
Work Environment
The work environment involves shifts with varying schedules: 4p-2:30a on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday; 9p-7:30a on Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday; 9p-7:30a on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday; and 2a-12:30p from Wednesday to Saturday. Training schedules align closely with regular shifts. Employees benefit from free bus passes by showing their badge.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochester, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
